I found these photos on a blog. I think that these are the best black and white photos that I have ever seen. This one’s taken in Paris, And this one’s in Prague. Everybody loves the L’Avenue des Champs-Elysées in Paris. I can only imagine the entertainment provided by this busker in Amsterdam! Must have been awesome! India is a beautiful country, especially the state of Kerala. This is one of the best photos of all time! At the Chinese Fishing Nets in Fort Cochin. Or how about Kathakali? And just take a look at these portraits!

I identify myself as a lad from the West coast of India. Our histories are etched along National Highway 17 that extends from Panvel in Maharashtra to Cochin in Kerala via. Goa and Karnataka. Our ancestors and extended family always lived close to beach i.e. along the Arabian Sea in all of the four Western states of Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka &Kerala – the Konkan.
Fishing &farming are the primary occupations of the people of the Konkan . Curry fish +rice is the staple diet.
It rains between June and September. Or used to.

It is unfortunate that land is divided politically. Into countries, states, districts etc. It is unfortunate, that, there are all these different languages in this world. And castes. And sub-castes.
Nevertheless.

This is the video of a road trip through National Highway 17 or NH-17 in India. The NH-17 runs from Maharashtra to Kerala, all through the Konkan along the west coast of India, the Konkan is, by far, the most beautiful stretch in the entire country.

Vineeth, Aniyan Kutty’s nephew, paid a courtesy visit, to his one room kitchen apartment, in Hindu Colony, Matunga. Aniyan Kutty, remember, has been living in this apartment ever since he moved to Bombay, from his native, Kerala, in 1961.
“Vineeth, so good to see you. You know, that, I have always been very fond of you.”
“I know, Uncle, that is the reason, I have come to see you.”

Six years ago, I’d gone backpacking through the south of India, alone, for a month. I shot photographs ‘aplenty with my Canon AE 1P, 1981 model, back in 2003, no digital SLR cameras, remember. Some twenty odd rolls of film, I got them developed, printed out contact sheets and got the good ones scanned. In time, they’d be seen gracing the pages of travel magazines.

Whilst writing my post, More from Kerala, I opened Google in a new tab only to check if Malayali was spelt that way. Indeed, it is spelt Malayali. But guess what, Google showed me some ‘Image results for Malayali’, have a look:

Its the fourth post of this series. 2003, January. I backpacked through the south of India. During my travels, I emailed my friends every now and then, updating them about my adventures. Copies of those messages sit in the ‘sent messages folder’ of my Yahoo! Mail account. Gmail didn’t exist then. I glanced through some of them today. I find them funny now. Back then, I wrote differently. I had different priorities. No digital cameras.
At the end of this travelogue, here below, I tell you how to make money on the internet by selling your vacation/travel etc. photos. One doesn’t have to be a professional photographer to make money by selling photos on the internet. In fact, there is a market for photos shot using good mobile phone cameras too. Read on:
